Regular building hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday (except Statutory Holidays). During these hours, the main entrance doors will be unlocked.
However, the hours during which the passenger elevators provide public access to the various floors may be restricted further. These hours are set by the tenants occupying each floor (or, for multi-tenant floors, by building management taking into consideration the regular operating hours of the tenants on the subject floor).
After-hours access is provided by way of a card access system. Access cards provide access to specific floors to authorized users only. For details, see below.
The building is closed to the public on all Statutory Holidays.
Recycling and Garbage
900 West Hastings offers an enhanced recycling program that, in addition to the traditional recycling of paper, cardboard, and glass, metals and plastics, now also includes organics, electronics, batteries and soft plastic. Paper towels from washrooms are also recycled. With this participation of all building occupants, the expanded recycling program will allow us to achieve a 90% diversion rate, whereby 90% of all waste materials are recycled.
Garbage is collected only in the lunchrooms or coffee stations. Garbage bins are lined and are emptied daily by the night cleaning staff.
900 West Hastings offers a secure bicycle storage room on the ground floor for use by people who work in the building. All users must be registered with our office. Access is provided upon receipt of a refundable $5.00 deposit.
Wall mounted bicycle racks are provided in the bicycle room. While the door to the bicycle room is locked at all times, we require that all bicycles be locked to the rack with a high quality lock.
We cannot be held responsible for damage to bicycles and bicycles are left at the owner’s risk. Bicycles may not be left overnight.

Temperature & Air Conditioning
Cooled or heated air is provided during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. During these times, building temperature will be held within the range outlined below.
After hours and on weekends and Statutory Holidays, the building temperature will be allowed to drop to the night set back temperature of 16 degrees Celsius. On extreme warm Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months, the building will not be allowed to heat up beyond 26 degrees Celsius. At that point, the air conditioning will come on to keep the building at 26 degrees.
At 900 West Hastings, we follow the standards developed by American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). During the winter months, the optimum (set) temperature is 22 degrees Celsius (71 degrees Fahrenheit) and a range of 20.0 to 23.9 degrees Celsius. During the summer months, the set temperature is 24.5 degrees Celsius (76 degrees Fahrenheit) and the temperature will be kept within the range of 22.8 to 26.1 degrees Celcius.
After-Hours Air Conditioning
On request, we can provide after-hours air conditioning. There is an hourly charge for this service to compensate for the cost of utilities and the additional equipment maintenance and servicing costs. 900 West Hastings is equipped with a sophisticated card access system that enables authorized users after-hours access to the building and access to secure floors. Card readers are located at the main entrance, in the elevators, and at doors throughout the building. Presenting a valid access card to the card reader will unlock the door or activate the elevator control panel.
Requests for new access cards must be authorized by the owner or manager of each company. Typically, access cards will be ready for pick-up at the building management office on the 5th floor within 24 hours. The access card cannot be picked up by anyone other than the person to whom it is to be issued.
In order to maintain a high level of security, the loss of an access card must be reported without delay.

Business owners and office managers wishing to provide us with instructions to change the elevator access times may fill out the Elevator Access Times Form, found on UPTIME.
Loading and Deliveries
Couriers and delivery vehicles may use the loading dock. Please instruct all couriers and delivery personnel to use the freight elevator only . No dollies or trucks are allowed in the main lobby or in the passenger elevators. This will minimize damage to the lobby and the passenger elevators, and keep the passenger elevators available for use by staff and customers.
A common loading dock is located on the south-west corner of the ground floor. The loading dock is accessed via the lane off Hornby Street. The dock can accommodate two one-tonne trucks or three smaller delivery vehicles. Overhead clearance is limited to 11 feet and nine inches (11′-9″).
The loading dock is for active loading or unloading only. Parking is not permitted and parked vehicles will be towed without notice.
Service contractors may make arrangements in advance to park in the loading dock for short periods of time but only during the time that they are actively working on site.

The freight elevator is accessible during all regular hours. Please instruct all couriers and delivery personnel to use the freight elevator only. This will minimize damage to the passenger elevators and keep the passenger elevators available for use by staff and customers.

Mail Delivery and postal Codes
900 West Hastings has a centralized mailroom located off the front lobby of the building.
Snaile Lockers are also available to all tenants for contactless deliveries. Tenants can therefore accept packages even when out of the office.
Red Canada Post mail boxes are located in front of 808 West Hastings Street, one block east of 900 West Hastings. Pickup times 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Newspapers are delivered to the building’s main entrance. Please ensure your carrier writes the appropriate suite number clearly on the front page of the newspapers. Building staff will collect the newspapers and deliver them to the appropriate floors by 8:00 a.m, Monday to Friday.
900 West Hastings offers a conference room that is available for tenants of the building. Located on the 5th floor, the conference room seats 14 persons around a large rectangular boardroom table. The room is well appointed with high quality furniture.
The room is available at a small user fee. The use is exclusive to tenants of 900 West Hastings; no outside parties will be accepted. Reservations can be made by contacting the Building Management Office.
